Old or damaged photo? Restore scratches, fading, and blur with our AI photo restoration tool →
Every digital camera and phone embeds EXIF metadata in the photo file: the date and time it was taken, the camera make and model, and often exposure settings. It's the fastest way to know exactly when a digital photo was captured — useful for organizing family archives and settling "when was this?" questions.
Not every photo has it. Scanned prints carry the scan date, not the original; screenshots and social-media downloads are usually stripped. For an old printed photograph, the physical format — daguerreotype, tintype, cabinet card, and so on — brackets its era far better than any file data.
This viewer reads everything locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, which is the only safe way to inspect metadata on personal photos.
Repair scratches, fading, and blur — or colorize black-and-white — with AI in about a minute.
