Common print label: 300 DPI. This changes print-density metadata, not pixel dimensions or detail.
A 3000 × 2400 pixel image labeled 300 DPI suggests a 10 × 8 inch print. Labeling the same pixels 150 DPI suggests 20 × 16 inches. The file still contains 3000 × 2400 pixels; the larger print has fewer pixels per inch.
This tool edits density metadata directly. It does not resample, sharpen, colorize or restore the photo. File size can change slightly because metadata is added or updated. PNG uses pixels per metre, so some applications display a value close to 300 rather than exactly 300.
No. DPI here is a print-density label. The tool does not add pixels, remove blur, restore damage or create detail. Choose enough source pixels for the intended print size.
Yes. Selecting a supported image, changing its DPI metadata and downloading the copy are free, with no account, payment or email required. This is separate from ArtImageHub’s paid restoration service.
No. This tool reads and edits your selected file locally in the browser. It does not send the photo to ArtImageHub or a model server. Other metadata, including location information, may remain in the downloaded copy.
Still JPEG and PNG images up to 20 MiB and 20 megapixels, with neither side over 20,000 pixels. Animated PNG, WebP, GIF, TIFF, HEIC and RAW are not supported. Damaged or unsupported metadata is rejected.
Applications may ignore print-density tags or use other metadata and their own layout settings. This tool updates existing JPEG JFIF and EXIF primary resolution fields (adding EXIF density if neither exists), or PNG physical-pixel density and primary EXIF resolution when present. Check the downloaded copy in your target application.
